The process began with the study of need as it was expressed to community leaders by actual patients and their families.  This analysis took place over several years.  What was found was that even with today’s advances - dialysis is still a very important issue in the lives of so many.  Having a facility located in Le Mars would help not only the patient - whose life depends on these treatments, but also their loved ones and friends.  It’s these family members and friends that transport the dialysis patients to their daily visits for their treatments, which take at least 4 hours, three times a week.
